2024 Fantasy Outlook
Crochet missed all of 2022 following Tommy John surgery and was limited to just 25 apperances between the majors and minors last season due to a shoulder injury. When healthy, the lefty walked more batters (13) at the big league level last year than he struck out (12), but the sample was limited to only 12.2 innings. He ended the season healthy, but the Crochet's persistent injury woes have made it difficult for the White Sox to settle on his role. Recent reports indicate his workload will be monitored during spring training and Chicago will determine whether to stretch him out to start in 2024, or use him in relief. Fantasy managers have been willing to gamble on Crochet's upside for a few years now, but he has yet to realize his potential. If health prevails in 2024, Crochet could re-emerge on fantasy radars, but expect a high WHIP no matter what role he fills. Read Past Outlooks
Blanks Nats for fourth win
Crochet (4-4) picked up the win in Wednesday's 2-0 victory over the Nationals, giving up three hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out six.
ANALYSIS
The left-hander wasn't exactly efficient, tossing only 56 of 89 pitches for strikes, but Crochet lasted long enough to qualify for the win. After a rough stretch in April, the 24-year-old has allowed only three runs over his last three starts (1.59 ERA) with a stellar 24:1 K:BB in 17 innings. Crochet will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Toronto.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Workload being managed
The White Sox are actively managing Crochet's workload and will continue to do so through the season, though he doesn't appear to have any firm limitations on a game-to-game basis, per Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old began the season with just 85.1 professional innings under his belt -- all in relief -- so it's not much of a surprise the organization is being cautious. Crochet has thrown at least 75 pitches in all eight outings this season and has maxed out at 93, and that seems to be the general workload window the club is working with. The left-hander has bounced back over his last two starts with three runs allowed and a 13:1 K:BB over 11 innings, following a rough three-start stretch from April 13 to April 24, during which he surrendered 17 runs and four homers.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
Crochet missed all of 2022 while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. The White Sox hope he'll return by mid-season. Before the surgery, the plan was for Crochet to follow Michael Kopech's example and begin the season as a multi-inning reliever before joining the rotation. The White Sox still envision Crochet as a starter, but there are no plans to work in that capacity in 2023. The hope is he builds up ample innings to make the full transition in the off-season. Still just 23-years-old, there is plenty of time for Crochet to make it as a starter, but with his arsenal, high-leverage relief work is a solid fallback. It's risky to trust Crochet in redraft leagues, but he could be a target to stash in keeper formats.
